Mob Mural Painting

Sangviaje Mural & Great Escapes by Rizza Cabrera

I remember a time and space
When we all would raise, raise, raise
Our voices ’til we’ve made
A change, a change

-Great Escapes, Rizza Cabrera

A mob of artists raised their voices in front of the UP Vargas Museum last November 16, 2014. Instead of shouting they made themselves heard [and seen] through their art. The Sangviaje artist collective (John Paul Antido, Daniel Aligaen, Jaypee Samson, Edrick Daniel, Guerrero Habulan, Dennis Fortozo, Joven Mansit, Reynaldo Samson Jr.) shared their thoughts on the environment through mural painting, while singer-song writer Rizza Cabrera performed her original songs.

This event was presented CANVAS, Project Bakawan and the UP Vargas Museum. This activity is part of the build-up activities for the Project Bakawan Art Festival set on February 2015 in the UP Diliman Campus in Quezon City.

This public art project was made possible in part by generous support from the Panta Rhea Foundation.
